Bow Sweet Give Away

AND THE WINNER IS!!:
GIVE AWAY LOVER!!
CONGRATUALTIONS, YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO CONTACT ME WITH YOUR MAILING INFORMATION.
THANK-YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED!

Another awesome give away! Erika from Bow Sweet has so kindly donated this wonderful head band as the give away prize for this week!! Please check out her blog: BowSweet.

1. How did you decide on your shop name?
I wanted a name that was short, sweet, and easy to remember. We brainstormed and debated many names for quite a while. There was even a poll on our blog. After all that, we finally decided on the very first name we started with!

2. When did you start crafting?
I have been crafting for as long as I can remember. I come from a very crafty family. We created all kinds of things growing up. I recently remembered making hair accessories when I was about 10 years old. They were clear, plastic hair bows that were filled with interesting items and then sealed with an iron. Some bows that I remember making contained beads, candy, origami birds, and even sand and seashells!

3. What or who inspires you?
I am definitely inspired by my two girls (ages 2 and 6). They are the reason I started making hair accessories. I was just not happy with the ones I could buy, and I especially had a hard time finding ones that would stay in my little one's fine, slippery, "barely-there" hair. I started researching, practicing, and perfecting - and got hooked. My girls are my inspiration every day.

4. Do you have a day job?
I was a Jr. High Choir teacher until I had my 2nd child. Now I am a full-time wife and mom.

5. Which item in your shop is your favorite and why?Hmmm... Right now I'll say the wrap snap - http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22673537 It took a LOT of practice, and it turned out to be unique and beautiful.

Little Bo Peep Knits

Little Bo Peep Knits has the most amazing yarns in such wonderful colors!! Melanie has been on Etsy for just over 1 year. She is offering FREE SHIPPING to the readers and those who enter the Give Away!! Just enter "blog" in the "comments to seller" when you purchase an item. WOOHOO!!

#1. How did you decide on your shop name?
My 7 year old son actually came up with my shop name! I was brainstorming one day and thinking out loud, telling him it needed to represent sheep and children. I started my shop by knitting wool diaper covers. ;) He piped up "Little Bo-Peep!" and the rest is history! :)

#2. When did you start crafting?
I've been crafting my whole life. My mom taught me how to cross stitch when I was about 8 years old. As a child my craftiness grew. I decorated cakes, made baskets, painted and more! When I was a newlywed I did a little bit of tole painting and sewing. Then when I had my 3rd child I began knitting wool diaper covers. It was during that time that I discovered the joy of yarn dyeing!

#3. What or who inspires you?
My family inspires me. :)

#4. Do you have a day job?
I'm a wife and mother to 3 kids and 2 dogs that we rescued from the pound so yes--I have a day job. lol

#5. What is the item in your shop you enjoyed making the most and why?
Oo, tough one. I enjoy making everything I sell. I think the Brynn colorway made me pleasantly surprised. I had a different colorway in mind when I started that and the dyes did NOT do what I wanted them to. lol I thought that it was a lost cause but it came out nicely, I think! I love that about yarn dyeing--sometimes you don't know what you're going to get! You might THINK you know, but you don't. ;)

THE GIVE AWAY!!
Melanie has been generous enough to offer this as the prize! I wish I could enter - would get Grandma to knit something up for me!! Love the color!!

"Woodland" was dyed using professional acid dyes on Blue Faced Leicester. Its coloring features shades of green and brown. The weight compares to heavy worsted weight yarns. 4.5 mm thick but 3 mm when stretched. This comes in a 3.5 oz (100 gram) hank (approx).Gauge 4-5 sts per inch, 12 wraps per inchNeedle size 7-9

The rules are the same as always:
* Go to Melanie's shop Little Bo Peep Knits,
*pick your favorite item,
*come back here and let me know what it is by leaving a link.
