Where are you from?
My name is Joanne and I am from Hamilton, Ontario. Hamilton is close to Toronto so its a nice combination of city and country life. I am currently employed at bookstore. Working at the bookstore opens me up to new experiences and inspiration.

Why did you start your business?
Dancing Fairy Designs all started on a very uneventful Sunday. I had recently left school to find a different career path that would make me happy but doing this left my schedule very open. I had so much free time and nothing to do and out of that boredom I stumbled onto Esty. I was amazed by all the beautiful items and wanted to buy them all. But out of lack of money I couldn't buy anything. The more I read about what Etsy was about I started to think I could make my own items. So after weeks of collecting materials I began to make my own glass tile pendants and selling them to friends and co-workers. Making my pendants and managing my stop have filled my spare time and filled me with pride. My shop has help my mother and I reconnect to our more creative side.

How did you decide on your name?
Dancing Fairy Designs name was chosen because I have always loved fantasy inspired arts and stories. I wanted my shop name to represent that love of magic and imagination.

What items to do sell? What items will you be adding?
I mostly sell glass tile pendants in my shop. I make square and rectangle pendants. Most of the tiles are photo jewelry. I also have made rings and magnets. I hope to be adding circle pendants, sewing projects, pillow boxes, lockets, and coasters in the future. My mother will soon be joining Dancing Fairy Designs as my partner.

What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
I am addicted to anything tree related and red hearts. I have just added a sweetheart collection to my shop and am working on making tree inspired collection.

Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
The item I most enjoyed making was my tree of life pendant. I just loved how the silver looks on the hand painted blue tile. It makes me feel like I am wearing 3d around my neck.
