Creamery Creek Farm has wonderful Goat Milk Soap! Some day I would love to see how they make their soap. Everything from milking the goats - picking the scents - to packaging it when it's all done. I've milked cows when I was younger, but for some reason I think milking goats would be a bit different :)
About Creamery Creek:
We are the Shumway Family. We have a small farm located along the beautiful Wasatch Front in lindon Utah, 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. We Have been raising registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats for Many years recently adding the Sweet Oberhaslis, we like to refer to them as our baby elks! We have enjoyed making soap for over 10 years. We also have heritage chickens, hotot rabbits, and of course our Dachchunds who think they need to herd the goats, though chase is more like it.
We enjoy our beautiful goats, who are well loved and in return provide us with wonderful, sweet, high butter fat milk that makes a creamy high quality soap for you!
About the goats:
We started raising goats in 1988, when our children were small. We started out with the african-pygmies and some other grade doe's, but back then the goats were just for fun, just pets. In 1994 we sold out our darling herd of pygmies and decided to look into a small dairy goat that could provide milk for the farm. We chose to have Nigerian Dwarfs, we had them shipped in from texas, and since that time we have shipped Nigerians Goats from some of the top milking herds from all over the nation. Over the years we worked hard to have our animals be small and correct but very productive dairy goats. They are very easy to handle and give us much joy, and a lot of hard work. We test yearly for diseases in our herd, and have always had clean herd. We have also started a new project with mini-oberhaslis,we are working on second generation they certainly are sweet. Even though we have had goats for years we are still learning to improve on the herd. Thanks to our cream team of goats, we are capable of making the best creamy goat milk soap ever! The soap we sell helps maintain the animals and the farm.
Aren't they just the cutest? And they make amazing soap too :) I was lucky to be sent 2 bars of soap and 3 samples. The large bars are Blueberry Scrub & Pineapple Blossom.
The Blueberry Scrub has been in my bathroom the last 2 weeks. We really like it! Our youngest works as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice and so is quite dirty, oily, greasy when he gets home. My husband loves to work in his shop on the weekends and gets equally dirty. This soap is amazing! We have some citrus based soap that is supposed to work well in the above conditions - it's in the basement bathroom. Since placing the Blueberry Scrub in the main floor bathroom, they don't go down to wash. This soap works so well, we are all impressed!
The Pineapple Blossom is close to my shower. I've been using it for a week now and LOVE it! Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits, but I've never tried it as a scent for soap. It's a beautiful, subtle scent, definitely becoming one of my favorites. I love the way I feel after a shower. The soap lathers well and makes my skin soft. No more dry itchy skin for me!
They have a wonderful variety of scents to choose from. There are a few unscented soaps as well as soaps using Essential Oils or Fragrance Oils. I would definitely recommend Creamery Creek to anyone!
