~~Where are you from?
A small city in Upstate NY, about 45 minutes from Albany. I've lived in this county my whole life, I'm use to the small town feel and actually enjoy it.

~~How did you decide on your shop name?
My shop name is actually what was available to me. I wanted it to be CARIA, which is my name Cari and my last initial A. But since Cari is actually my middle name and my first initial is also C, I was okay with CCARIA being available. So it all worked out in the end.

~~Why did I start my business?
I actually only started my business last summer. I started making jewelry after I helped my best friend make some bracelets to sell for a Breast Cancer walk and I became addicted. I still didn't even consider going into business, it was more fun to make jewelry for myself and friends, but soon I was overrun with pieces. All my friends were telling me I should sell it and next thing I know I'm selling it online and doing home parties etc. I seem to the person everyone calls last min when they need a gift now and they just come over and look at my stock. I love every minute of it!

~~What inspires me?
I can't really say one thing inspires me. But I always notice what other people are wearing now, jewelry wise, and if I really like something I will take a closer look and then go home and put my own spin on it. More often than not an outfit will be my inspiration. I'll see an outfit, or a shirt I like and then go to my work area and create all sorts of pieces that would look good with those clothes. I have to say what I enjoy the most is custom pieces. I love when someone asks me to make a piece for another person and then describes that person's style to me and I have the challenge to create something to suit their personality and personal style.

~~What do I like about being a seller?
This is simple, I love the feeling of pride I get when I'm out in public and I see someone in a piece of jewelry I made. Even better when it's a person I don't even know, that means someone gave it to them as a gift. There is no better feeling than knowing you made something that someone else is wearing.

~~What is your supply addiction, is there a specific supply or color you can't pass up?
I have to say any type of stones/beads is my addiction. I just love buying new stones, it doesn't matter the color, size, shape, or material. Just the fact that it's something new to play with and create more.

~~What do you do when you aren't being an artist?What activities do you enjoy?
When I'm not making jewelry, I'm normally working my full time job (I'm in Finance) which is pretty boring and mundane, so creating is a nice outlet for me. I also like to workout and read a lot, but even more I enjoy spending time with my son and my husband. My boys (as I often call them) enjoy playing a lot of video games, so that is normally my time to make jewelry.

~~Which item in my shop did I enjoy making the most?
I can't say I've got an absolute favorite. I enjoy making everything and everyday I make something I like better than the day before. So right now I have to many favorites to name just one.

~~Are there any other places we can find you on the web?
Right now just at my shop at www.ccaria.etsy.com. I keep toying with Facebook and Twitter, but it's finding the time to devote to them. Every time I decide to start one, I realize I would rather spend that time making more jewelry!
