*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
My husband and I love to travel. We have been all around the US and South America. We spent most of last year living with a medicine man and natives in the middle of the Amazon, it was amazing! We are originally from NY, we call California home, but we are in Idaho for the summer care taking for a boat club. You can read about our travels on our blog:
*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
A good friend gave me a necklace with a hamsa on it right as I was starting my own business. The hamsa represents the acceptance of blessings from God and is also a symbol of protection. It is common in both Islam and Judaism. I do not affiliate myself with a religion but I have a strong faith in God. My husband and I are both very interested in the sociology and history of all religions and believe they all play a part in the evolution toward Love.
I started my business in order to spread my knowledge of the alternative healing therapies that I have been studying for over 10 years now. Color therapy, aromatherapy, meditation, crystal therapy, shamanism to name a few.
*What or who inspires you?
Nature is where most of my inspiration comes from. Travel, culture, people, relationship, these all play a role as well.
*What do you like about being a seller?
I LOVE to trade. I have never turned down a trade request. I absolutely love to support other artists/crafters and I love getting my stuff out there. If someone sees something they like in my shop and want to buy or trade for it, I feel truly honored and I think they should have it ;)
*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
My latest thing has been vintage books. I can't pass up a good deal and I'm the one looking though library 'junk.' I just love vintage craft books and vintage history books.
I'm always going to be a sucker for yarn, I just love the feel of it and especially the colors some of the etsy spinners come up with. So beautiful!
*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy?
YOGA. Right now I'm doing at least a few hours a day. I also just got into chi running, it's when you go really slow and focus totally on your body and what it needs. It has nothing to do with time, distance, speed, competition; it's all about me and that's what I like.
I like to read a lot, usually non-fiction, about alternative healing, herbs, aromatherapy and stuff like that; memoirs are pretty hot right now. But I can get into a good romance every now and then.
We are working at a boat club right now so we are enjoying the summer. Going for 4 wheeler rides, boating, swimming (soon), yard work, all share my time.
*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
Hmmm...I always like making Goddess Gloves. They are super fun for me and for some reason I enjoy knitting in circles (go figure). But, I would have to say my heart is all about making healing kits. I just love to help people on their healing journey. I especially like to make custom ones, it's so rewarding to me.
My husband recently started making drums and I love when he finishes one, they are all so awesome!
*Are there other places on the net we can find you?
Yep. My blog is my favorite place to be:
