PR Welcome

Would you like your products or
services reviewed by
the Audrey's Give Away team?
Then you have come to the right place!
OR
If you would like me to just host
a give away for you
Please email me at

audreyscountrycrafts [at] gmail [dot] com

to get started.

I have over 1000 followers on my Give Away blog and over 1000 followers on my Country Crafts blog. All give aways that I host are advertised on both blogs for the duration of the give away. Each Give Away will run for a 3 week period.

I also have a list of over 100 free sites/blogs that I advertise Give Aways on. Along with myself, I have a very reliable and honest group that help with the reviews. All reviews will be positive. (We will inform you if we are unable to provide you with a positive review and we won't publish the review.)

Give Aways must be open to Canadians. I would prefer to have the Give Away open World Wide, but will host a Give Away open to only US & Canada.

If you would like us to review your product, I do suggest that you send me a non-returnable sample of your product. The best way to gain exposure to your product is to also have a Give Away of the product I am reviewing. The winner of the Give Away would be picked by me using Random.org, at which time I will email you the winner and it will be your responsibility to mail them the prize within two weeks. Or if you prefer, another wonderful way to have a give away is to offer a Gift Certificate to your shop (the winner has their choice of product).

My "Team" consists of myself (an almost 50 year old wife, mother, school bus driver, crafter and lover of Give Aways), my almost 50 year old Husband, two teenage sons, and 3 close friends with young children. We all offer honest and straight forward opinions.

Please allow 2 weeks for me to thoroughly review your product.
You will be notified by email when I have received the sample product. Once my review of your product has been posted and the Give Away has begun I will send another email containing the link.

Here is my email - please contact me if you are interested:

How To Have a Successful Give Away!

Are you planning on having a Give Away? Do you host Give Aways? Would you like to get traffic to your Give Away? Here are some ideas that might be helpful.

*When planning a Give Away or Hosting a Give Away (G.A.):
1) Have a good write up on the shop the give away is coming from.
- If the G.A. is from your own shop - have a short write-up about yourself & your shop. Most people are interested in where the prize is coming from.

2) Make sure there are quite a few links to the shop.

3) Pictures are important. Have a few different pictures from the shop.
- Show a good variety of items : 3-4 pictures works well. This will make people interested in the rest of the shop too.

4) Have a Very Good picture of the prize and a good description.

* Every G.A. has different rules for entering. Here are a few suggestions for rules:
1) Have a mandatory entry. I like to have this entry be an easy one. What I do is have everyone go to the shop/site, pick their favorite item, then come back to my blog with the name/link. This way the shop gets traffic, hopefully interest & maybe a sale or two.

2) Have people twitter, Facebook, blog etc about your G.A. with links back to it. It's amazing how many people will do one or more of these to enter. The more links out there the more traffic you might get. You could also ask people to follow you on twitter.

3) Some blogs like to have people follow their blog as an entry option. I wouldn't suggest making this the mandatory entry, though some blogs do with some luck. Quite a few people will avoid these G.A.'s.

4) Have everyone leave a way for you to contact them.
ie: email, blog, etsy shop id.

5) Basically anything goes. The ways to enter a G.A. is endless. Do what works for you!

* Make sure you post the end date!!
I post G.A's on my blog and on two other blogs. Nothing is more frustrating than not knowing when the G.A. ends.

* Email the winner!
There are blogs that expect people to come back to see if they won. But realistically this isn't the best. Who remembers every G.A. they entered, where to find it, what the end date was etc. Next to no one. If you posted in the rules that everyone should leave a way for you to contact them - hopefully they did :) If not - pick another winner.
(I use Random.org to pick my winners)

Email the winner, give them 3 days to email back (make sure to mention that in the email). If they don't get back to you, pick another winner. I've never had to pick a 2nd winner. Everyone loves to win!!

* PROMOTION
Probably the most important step in having/hosting a successful G.A. The more sites/blogs you advertise on the more traffic to your blog & therefore to the G.A. shop!
I've accumulated a very long list of sites/blogs where you can advertise for FREE! A few of them you will have to join, but that is also free & well worth it. Here is the link to my list:

http:/www.audreysgiveaways.blogspot.com/2009/08/where-to-advertise-give-away.html

When posting your G.A. on Linky's - make sure to add the end date! Link directly to the G.A. post. And if you happen to have a prize that is worth $20+, mention that as well.

Example:
AGB - Hand Painted Jean Blanket $65 - 01/08
http://audreysgiveaways.blogspot.com/2009/12/jean-blanket.html

I won't tell you that if you follow everything I've listed that you will have the best G.A. ever. How many entries you get has a lot to do with what the prize is, where you promote, and how people are feeling when they see your post. Not saying that the prize has to be worth $20+, many items that are $5 get lots of entries. People are fickle, you just never know what types of G.A. they will want to enter. But the more you promote the better chance you have of getting people to your blog & entering the G.A.

* Moral of the Story :)
- Have Fun!!
- Make rules fairly easy.
- Don't forget the end date!
- Email Winner!!

If you have any tricks, links, ideas or suggestions please post them here. We would all love to hear them!!

And if you are into fashion - they definitely have a bag for you too. But first a little about the company:
The philosophy of Envirosax® is to help create a better future for our planet by spreading the environmental message through colour and script using the Envirosax® eco-friendly reusable bag as the vehicle.
Envirosax is proud to help protect the environment for tomorrow’s generation by providing an eco-friendly alternative to disposable shopping bags that have caused so much damage to the environment worldwide. Envirosax bags are lightweight, portable, waterproof and each one holds the equivalent of two supermarket plastic bags thanks to reinforced seams.

You can go HERE to learn more about the company and the couple behind it.

They have divided their bags into "Series". There is the Graphic Series full of beautify patterns and lots of color. The Organic Series with bags made from cotton, bamboo, linen and hemp. Want to get your children started on recycling? They have a wonderful Kid's Series with bags designed for boys and girls. Definitely check out the Exclusive Series where they've collaborated with companies such as Pepsi, Sesame Street, Animal Planet, and Planet Green. There are more Series to see too!

Each bag can be purchased separately for $8.95 or in sets of 5 for $39.95. I love the fact that these bags come in this tiny pouch that is attached to the bag. Of course with two big boys in the house, my bag doesn't get put back into the pouch very often :)

1 Doz. Handmade Lollipops Giveaway

CLOSED

*Where are you from?
I am from Waldoboro Maine, but I was brought up on the ocean in Belfast, Maine. Although most people say that my accent reminds them more of New York City or New Jersey.

*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
My shop name was easy for my to choose. Maddie is my daughter and she can be a little devil. Maddie is also my little taste tester. I know they are good if she eats the whole cake ball. So thats how Maddie's Devilish Sweets got its name. I started my business because I wanted to do something I loved while bringing in a little but of money. I was trained as a pastry chef and love baking, so for me what I wanted to do was a no brainer.

*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?
1. Wow those look yummy
2. That they are beautiful and well represented
3. That I take pride in making the goodies in my shop
4. Different events they could use them at
5. Heaven in a bite sized concoction

*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
I have a lot of addictions when it comes to supplies. My two biggest ones are Flavorings... I love to see what I can do by mixing different flavors, so I feel the need to have ever flavor possible lol. My second addiction is a little odd... I love different designed tissue paper. I pack things with tissue paper and love it when someone opens a package and thinks " wow this is gorgeous" even before they get to the product.

*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy?
I love spending time with my family. We are closely knit, and in the summer we have tons of BBQ's and picnics. I also write book and product reviews for a local newspaper and my blog. So I am always seen with a new product, figuring out how it works... what different things I can do with it, how it works ect. Also I always have my Kindle on hand or a book... just in case I find a few moments that I can sit down and read.

*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
I love making lollipops. I really like how I can come up with just about any flavor lollipop and have it come out amazing! I look forward to adding new flavors to the shop soon. I also really love making the Bacon and chocolate cake balls. They are unusual but people really seem to love them! and they always come out looking amazing.

*What keeps you motivated?
It actually doesn't take a whole lot to keep me motivated. I just really love baking and creating new goodies. I think that it helps that I am able to have my daughter at arms reach. She has a little set that has bowls and whisks with it... so when I am baking ... Maddie is baking.

*If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?
Be creative! I got this advice from someone else on Etsy. If you have a unique and quality product, you will be successful. Don't get into to something that a million other people are doing because you won't stand out and either will your products. Also a picture is worth a thousand words. I take about 30 pictures of each item from tons of different angles and then pick the one that looks the most professional. It gives your shop an amazing look and feel about it.

Friis 16oz Coffee Canister Giveaway

THE WINNER IS:
Royalegacy
CONGRATULATIONS!

Do you drink coffee? I do every morning with my breakfast. Love to have fresh coffee using freshly ground beans, however since my husband got a new job and breakfast is at 5:30 am - there is no way I can grind fresh beans to make my coffee, plus get his lunch and breakfast made in time. Well, I could get it all done if I got up at 4:30am! Not happening!

So I jumped at the offer to review this wonderful coffee container from friis.

Had to use their photo - had a terrible time photography the steel container.

There is a wonderful dial on the top to help you keep track of how long your coffee has been in the container. The dial goes from 1 - 31. I've had the container for 2 weeks now. Put freshly ground beans in it 13 days ago and when I open the container, they still smell like I just ground them! It's really amazing!

Each container comes with one Year of Friis Freshness Valves included, to vent freshness damaging CO2 gases. Don't know how it all works - but it does! This package sells for $21.95 right now (on sale). I would highly recommend it if you are a coffee lover! Even if you don't grind your own beans - use it to store your coffee grounds. You will be amazed at how fresh they stay.

You can also purchase different Canister Bundles, and a wonderful Coffee Vault- Traveler that holds 16 oz of coffee grounds or beans. This would be great for the camper :) This is on sale right now for $13.95.

NOW FOR THE GIVE AWAY!
The winner will receive a 16 oz Friis Coffee Canister with one year supply of Friis Freshness Valves.

JULIE!
CONGRATULATIONS!!

What is the perfect Mother's Day gift? I have no idea :) But something personalized is always my favorite gift. Magpie Designz has some of the most beautiful personalized hand stamped jewelry I've seen! The options are endless!

Emily is the designer behind Magpie Designz. Here is a little bit about Emily:
Magpie Designz began in 2008 when I desperately needed a creative outlet to express myself. I have made jewelry ever since I can remember but I wanted to make something that was unique and personal. Along came my personalized jewelry line which has now taken over my life, in a good way of course! I LOVE designing jewelry to compliment anyone, especially moms. I am not a mom myself, however I adore my nieces and nephews like they're my own. It's not like we need any more help bragging about our loved ones, but just in case, my jewelry will give you plenty of bragging practice!

Besides my mommy jewelry, I also design inspirational necklaces stamped with your favorite phrase or word. You can share your passion for a specific cause, for example, "Living Green", "Army Wife", "Rescue". You can also encourage those around you with your favorite Bible verse. The possibilities are endless!

Obviously by the title of the give away - everyone knows that Emily will be giving a lucky winner a $40 Gift Certificate. So I went looking through her site to see what I might like if I could enter and win.

I'm sure everyone has a mother or mother-in-law that would love a personalized necklace, a beautiful pair of earrings, or a bracelet. What would you get if you won?

When you go shopping - do you remember to take along your re-usable bags?  I've been really good lately at remembering mine :)  It has taken a bit of time to get into the habit, but I finally figured out that if I hang my favorite bag, full of the other bags, on a door knob near my outside door - I will remember to take them along!

Whirl Mini Laser Mouse Giveaway

THE WINNER IS:
#81 VRTISH55!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

If you spend a lot of time in front of a computer - you need a mouse from Smartfish. They sent me a Whirl Mini Laser Mouse to try out. Luckily both boys were home and got to try it too :) It comes with batteries!! Woohoo! Didn't have to run to town to get batteries to try it out :)

This mouse is really comfortable. It's just the right size for my hand. The whole mouse swivels side to side & front to back for comfort. You don't always have to have your hand in the same numbing position, you can tilt the mouse to the right or left and just relax while using it. Another wonderful feature is that the mouse is wireless! Our old mouse cord always seems to be in the way! Luke (son1) has a wireless mouse for his laptop, and it looked so much easier to use.

The only draw back for us was that to use the wireless mouse we had to plug it into the USB port on the front of our desktop computer in order to use it. I always have my camera plugged in there, so it was a bit inconvenient. If I plugged the mouse into the back - the signal couldn't get through our monitor, so the mouse didn't work quite as well. It did work really well on Logan's (son2) laptop, so when he moved out last weekend - he asked to take it along :) He's quite enjoying a wireless mouse.

They come in 6 wonderful colors! Don't you just love the red? They can be bought from the Smartfish website for $49.95 + shipping. I would recommend this mouse to anyone who loves to spend time on the computer :)

1/2 Pound Candy Giveaway

THE WINNER IS:
#169 - MMBEAR!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!

*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am originally from Alabama but after spending 6 years after college in south Mississippi, I have been living in Savannah, GA for the last 4 years. I have been married to an awesome guy for 9 years and have two beautiful children: Patrick, age 5 and Abigail, 20 months. I work full time as an engineer and aspire to be the impossible Supermom.

*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
Honestly it wasn't my first choice. My first choice was Abby Jane after our daughter. I loved the girlyness of it. But I couldn't bear to leave my son's name totally out of the picture. Since nothing that included his name really rang clearly with me, I just pulled How Sweet It Is out of the air. It's growing on me.

I have been making homemade candy based on my mom's recipes for years. Last year due to budget constraints it because our standard Christmas present to many, many people who were on our Christmas list. The response was great. One of my friends suggested I sell it and bought the first sales ever this past Christmas. The more I thought of it, the more I like the idea. So I thought I should expand out from just my local friends and take it to etsy.

*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?
1.) Yum
2.) Lovely
3.) What a great idea!
4.) I need to buy some for ____
5.) Yum (again!)

*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
I have to serious restrain myself from buying too many supplies to just make lots of candy here in the beginning of the business. I'm trying to build it as sales increase but it is hard. It's also hard to resist having candy around the house at all times to munch on.

*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy?
I'm pretty much a big nerd. I love reading, music (I once was a musician, but life moved on). I like things that make me think and truly inspire me to better myself or the world around me. I love snuggling with my children and soaking in a bubble bath. If money were no object I would throw a LOT of money at all of the lovely shops on etsy!

*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
I love making all of the classic items that remind me of Christmases past...the ones that my mom has always made. Those are the classic fudges, the buckeyes, and the dipped items like oreos. I have had a lot of fun coming up with new creations like the dipped S'mores.

*If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?
Well, I am still a new shop, so that's hard. But I would say first of all, use all outlets you have...personal friends, Facebook, Twitter, email, word of mouth. Everything. Don't be afraid to sell your product. It might feel uncomfortable--promoting yourself like that--but it's the way you will probably have to push to be noticed.

*Are there other places on the net we can find you?

You can also find my personal finance blog at http://mrsnespysworld.blogspot.com but that has very little to do with my candy. =)

NOW FOR THE GIVE AWAY!
The winner will receive 1/2 a pound of candy from How Sweet It Is! Winner's choice of product from the shop: cake truffles, fudge, bark etc.
