I used Random.org to pick the winner of Rebecca's Give away.
The Winner is:
JANIL from Spain!!
Rose Red Rose is an amazing jewelry shop on Etsy. Rebecca is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area but she has been living in Berlin Germany for 10 years now. She also has a wonderful Schaufensterbabe.
#1. How did you decide on your shop name?
I chose Rose, red Rose because I wanted a name that sounded romantic and feminine as a lot of my jewelry is in this style. I also always loved the Grimm's fairy tale Snow White and Rose Red which is probably one of the reasons the name came to mind.
#2. When did you start crafting?
I've done a little crafting here and there ever since I can remember. I liked to do embroidery when I was a child and did a lot of beading in my 20s. I started making jewelry and small pieces of art on a more regular basis soon as my first child was born in 2007 because I wanted a creative outlet.
#3. Are there other crafts you would like to try?
I really want to learn to sew better. I took a course last year and found out that I am not a natural talent, but I would be most interested in altering and up-cycling clothing, so I think I could manage that. Unfortunately I bought a used sewing machine on ebay and shortly afterward it exploded (with smoke and everything.) I guess it's not the best idea to buy used electronic equipment from people you don't know online!
#4. What or who inspires you?
I think women inspire me. I love to see women doing their own thing when it comes to style and adding a splash of color to their outfits. I try to make my jewelry unusual and quite colorful for people who want a wearable conversation piece.
#5. Do you have a day job?
Currently I am staying at home with my seven month old baby girl. I work at the technical university here in Berlin teaching English to university students, but I will be taking a break from the job until the Winter semester of 2011.
>#6. What is the item in your shop you enjoyed making the most and why?
I think it was the necklace For Me It Should Rain Roses. It was the first piece I did in which I also did some hand-stitching and used a colorful ribbon. I made one for myself and I am always getting compliments on it which makes me feel proud!
Rebecca is offering this amazing necklace to one lucky person!!
